Kia is gearing up for the global unveiling of its latest compact SUV, the Syros, on December 19. Positioned to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kushaq, and Mahindra XUV300, Kia Syros is set to redefine rear-seat comfort and offer an upgraded feature set over the existing Sonte.
Enhanced Rear Seat Comfort
Kia Syros stands out by prioritizing rear-seat comfort, featuring reclining seats, a unique offering in the compact SUV segment apart from Hyundai Venue. However, unlike the Venue, Kia is focusing on increasing rear seat space. Built with a tall-boy design, the Syros maximizes vertical space in the cabin. This design is inspired by the internationally sold Kia Soul and aims to deliver roomier interiors compared to both the Sonet and the larger Seltos.
Packed with Features
Kia Syros will offer an array of advanced features, especially in its higher variants. Over the Sonet’s offerings, Kia is adding upgrades like:
- 360-Degree Camera for enhanced visibility and parking ease.
- Front Parking Sensors for added convenience in tight spots.
- Advanced ADAS Suite, including lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, for improved safety.
- Panoramic Sunroof, a premium addition enhancing cabin ambience.
With these upgrades, Kia intends to provide a more luxurious and tech-savvy driving experience.
Design and Build
Kia Syros will be available with two engine options:
- 1.0L Turbo-Petrol
- 1.5L Diesel
The absence of the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine means the Syros will target mid to high range buyers. Estimated prices start at Rs 10 Lakh, topping out at around Rs 16 Lakh aligning it slightly above the Sonet in terms of positioning.
Market Expectations
Kia plans to announce the Syro’s pricing during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January. With it’s blend of cutting-edge features, improved comfort, and competitive pricing, the Syros is expected to strengthen Kia’s presence in the highly competitive compact SUV market.
The Syros represents Kia’s commitment to innovation and user-centric offerings, ensuring it appeals to buyers seeking a spacious, tech-rich, and stylish compact SIV.
