Leaked: Tata Sierra EV Interior Revealed in New Patent Images

The Tata Sierra, available in both electric and internal combustion engine versions, is one of the most eagerly awaited new cars set to launch in India this year. At Auto Expo 2023, the company revealed the Sierra EV in a near-production format, but some interior features remained concept-like. However, a recently leaked design patent image offers an exciting first look at the production-ready interior of the Tata Sierra EV. Here’s why you should be paying attention.

The Tata Sierra EV will feature a unique dashboard that sets it apart from its ICE counterpart. Plus, it’s anticipated to come in both standard 5-seat and luxurious 4-seat lounge layouts, catering to various preferences. With a launch expected by the end of 2025, now is the perfect time to get excited about what promises to be a game-changing addition to the automotive market.

Tata Sierra EV Interior Spied in New Design Leak

Taking a closer look at the interior of the Tata Sierra EV, it’s clear that the production model closely mirrors the original concept, and that’s great news for fans. The standout feature is a large central touchscreen—likely around 12 inches—that seamlessly integrates with the digital instrument cluster. Below this display, you’ll find central AC vents that are now more prominent than in the concept design, while sleek horizontal lines on the dashboard cleverly house side AC vents.

Additionally, the classic four-spoke steering wheel has made its way to production, maintaining familiarity for users. The dashboard features an elegant stepped design that cascades downwards and includes a centrally mounted speaker carried over from the concept model.

While some elements like moss inserts won’t be seen in production, Martin Ulharik, Tata Motors’ head of design, has assured us that these can be offered as unique accessories for buyers looking to personalize their vehicles. In essence, this blend of familiar elements with customizable options highlights Tata’s commitment to offering both style and individuality in their new EV lineup.

Regarding the switchgear, we anticipate that the Sierra EV will incorporate the touch-based HVAC panel and drive selector lever from the Curvv EV. Additionally, it’s likely that the center console will keep its floating design, featuring extra storage space underneath it, just like what we saw in the concept.

What makes this particularly compelling is that the Sierra EV will showcase a different dashboard compared to its ICE-powered counterpart. The ICE version was unveiled earlier this year at the Auto Expo with a unique triple-screen layout that spans across the entire dashboard. This approach is quite rare when comparing ICE and EV models within Tata’s lineup, but it serves as an excellent way to clearly distinguish between these two products.

Tata Sierra EV Countdown Begins: Features & Launch Timeline Out

While specific technical details about the Sierra EV are limited at this point, it’s anticipated that it will utilize Tata’s Acti.EV platform, similar to the Curvv EV. The Sierra EV is expected to be positioned just above the Curvv EV and below the upcoming Harrier EV. Unlike the Harrier, which will offer all-wheel drive options, the Sierra EV will feature front-wheel drive. Pricing is projected to fall between Rs 20 lakh and 25 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option in its class. Set to launch by late 2025—after the ICE-powered Sierra hits the market—the Sierra EV is poised to compete with strong contenders like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and the forthcoming Maruti e-Vitara in a rapidly expanding midsize electric SUV segment.
