Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated electric G-Class, officially named the G 580 EQ, with its price reveal scheduled for today. The event will highlight the brand’s strategic roadmap for India in 2025 while also marking the debut of the five-seater EQS SUV 450.

The EQG, as teased, stands out with its signature matte blue finish—likely one of several striking color options. Distinguishing itself from its ICE counterpart, the EQG features a blanked-out grille, glossy black accents, and an optional tailgate-mounted storage box that replaces the spare wheel to house the EV charger.

Pre-bookings for the G-Class EQ began in July last year, with deliveries expected in the near future. Among its standout features is the ability to perform a 360-degree ‘tank turn,’ demonstrating cutting-edge innovation.

Under the hood, the G-Class EV is powered by a robust 116kWh battery pack and four individual electric motors—one for each wheel—delivering a combined output of 579bhp and 1,164Nm. Mercedes-Benz promises a driving range of up to 479km on a single charge, redefining luxury and performance in the electric SUV segment.
