The luxury carmaker has recalled the EQS sedan, GLC, AMG SL 55, and S-Class models as part of their ongoing commitment to safety. This marks the sixth voluntary recall from Mercedes in 2023, impacting around 30 units according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Alarmingly, nearly 93,000 Mercedes vehicles have also been recalled in the US this week alone. The issue centers on the fuse box in these models, which poses not only a fire hazard but also an increased risk of crashes and injuries. This failure poses a significant risk: vehicles may suddenly lose propulsion without any warning, while vital functions like restraint systems and instrument clusters might also malfunction, substantially increasing the chances of crashes and injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, in these circumstances, there’s an undeniable potential for a thermal incident within the vehicle\u2014a risk that should not be taken lightly. The recall listing on SIAM\u2019s website clearly highlights this issue. In total, besides the EQS and S-Class models at risk, three GLCs and two AMG SLs are also affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
