MG Motor has refreshed the Comet EV lineup for 2025 by introducing new features across most variants, except the base Executive trim. As a result, prices have increased by up to ₹27,000 depending on the variant. However, no changes have been made to the mechanical setup of the vehicle. Notably, the Blackstorm Edition continues with the same pricing.
The mid-spec Excite variant now comes at a premium of ₹20,000.
2025 MG Comet: New Features Introduced
The Excite trim now gets added convenience features like a rear parking camera and electrically foldable ORVMs, which were earlier exclusive to the top-spec Exclusive variant.
The Exclusive variant also receives an interior upgrade, replacing the fabric upholstery with premium leatherette seats and a 4-speaker audio system in place of the earlier 2-speaker setup.
Additional features across the Comet range include:
- Dual 10.25-inch screens (driver’s display and infotainment touchscreen)
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Keyless entry for added convenience
2025 MG Comet EV: Performance and Range
The MG Comet EV continues with its 42hp rear-mounted motor, delivering 110Nm of peak torque. Powered by a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the EV offers a claimed MIDC range of 230km on a single charge.
Charging Capability
MG recently introduced a 7.4kW AC fast charger for the Excite and Exclusive trims. With this, the battery can be fully charged in just 3.5 hours, significantly quicker than the 3.3kW charger that takes almost double the time.

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Option
MG also offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, allowing customers to rent the battery instead of purchasing it outright. Under this scheme, the starting price of the Comet drops to ₹5 lakh, but MG charges ₹2.5 per kilometer as battery rental.
